The Jason Larway Team from Seattle, WA defeated the Stu Harris team from B.C. to win the 2007 Yukon Title Curling Classic

The Fairbanks Curling Club and Yukon Title Company are proud to extend an invitation to participate in the Yukon Title Curling Classic Cash Spiel. The format and curling schedule are as follows:

  • 2007 Yukon Title Curling Classic is an Open Tournament Sanctioned by the World Curling Tour
  • 6 Qualifying teams
  • $14,000 CASH PAYOUT
    First Place $6,000
    Second Place $3,200
    Third & Fourth Place $1,400
    Fifth & Sixth Places $1,000
  • Entry Fee $560 (U.S)
  • Entry Deadline - 9:00 p.m. November 1, 2006
  • Entry Deposit Required - $200 per Team (Payable to Fairbanks Curling Club)
  • 4-Rock Free Guard Zone Rule Applies
  • Five Game Guarantee with 24 teams

  • Round-robin in 2 pools, one of six and one of seven teams. The top three teams from each pool qualify. The top team in each pool receives a bye into the semi-finals. Any ties in the standings are broken by a shoot-out following the round-robin play. The 6 qualifiers play single-elimination.
  • A substitute player or (5) member team is acceptable. However, no player participating in the tournament may act as a sub for another team. (The full team must be registered.)
  • The choice of hammer in the first end is determined by the lead player of each team throwing to the house with sweepers. The rock must be in play to count. The closest rock to the button determines who chooses. The rock must be delivered from the far hack to the glass for all games. Rock color is determined by the draw. The team listed first shall throw yellow rocks.
  • Practice time is available before each game. The team listed first on the draw may practice for 10 minutes starting 30 minutes before game time. The team listed second may practice for ten minutes starting 15 minutes before game time. The ice will be swept but not repebbled following practice.
