SPRING 2008 CURLING LEAGUES -- Draw begins Jan 3rd
** These leagues are proposed for the spring and subject to change based on interest and participation

Note: Please go to the membership link for draw cards.

SUNDAY
**NEW** FAMILY/ RELAXED LEAGUE - 4:00 pm. Come curl with your kids as a family, or just get a low key game in before the hectic week begins. These will be 4 person, 8 end regulation games. This will a non-competitive league designed for skill-building and fun. New or experienced curlers are welcome. Night Manager: TBA

MONDAY
MINI-MONDAY LEAGUE - 5:45 pm. Teams will consist of 3 players each (6 stones played), curling 6 end games. (1 free guard stone rule) Sign up as individuals or as a team for this league, mix it up and try a new position. We hope this will attract those curlers who want to curl a second night of the week, and still get home early.

FUN LEAGUES - 7:00 pm. Sign up as individuals for this league. Instruction is a key part of these draws, with an emphasis on helping new curlers improve and just have FUN! These are good nights for returning curlers to experience new positions and share talents with beginning curlers. Since we want to make this a good experience for any new curlers, draw committee will form teams with balance in mind, a maximum of two returning curlers can request to be placed on the same team.

PICK UP LEAGUE - no fee - 5:45-7:30 pm. This popular new league addition is targeting military, youth, UAF and families, but everyone is welcome with short instruction and drills built in. Check it out. Call Cathy Persinger for more info. This is a great opportunity for drop-ins to get a taste of Curling.

TUESDAY
**NEW** MIXED DOUBLES LEAGUE - 5:45 pm. Teams will consist of 2 players each (one male & one female),curling 6 end games. (1 free guard stone rule) Sign up as individuals or as a team for this league.

FUN LEAGUES - 7:00 pm. Sign up as individuals for this league. Instruction is a key part of these draws, with an emphasis on helping new curlers improve and just have FUN! WEDNESDAY
DINNER LEAGUE - 5:45 pm. This is an evening of SOCIAL curling. Sign up early as a team, couple, or individuals as this night is in very high demand! Only 13 teams will be accepted. Each week, one team will receive a bye and this team will prepare dinner for the others. Dinner is served after all teams are done curling, usually around 8 - 8:30 pm.
FEE - $50.00 per curler to cover the cost of all the meal.

THURSDAY
COMPETITIVE/PICKED LEAGUE - 6:30pm/ 8:30pm. Sign up as teams only. A competitive league, intended for teams that expect stiffer competition or are preparing for the nationals or competitive cash spiels. No restriction on the make-up of the teams. If there are only enough teams for one draw then there will only be a Picked League at 6:30 pm.

Picked league FEE - $50.00 per team - returned as prize money!
Competitive League FEE - $100 per team - returned as prize money!

FRIDAY
FUN LEAGUE - 7:00 pm. End of the week, tired and want to unwind? Sign up as teams or as an individual and we will place you on a team. This is still a fun league and there is no restriction on make-up of the teams other than team players must be members of the club.
Night Manager - TBA

SATURDAY YOUTH LEAGUE
LITTLE ROCKERS (Ages 6 to 12) - 10am. Stressed at this level are: on-ice safety, early skills development and most importantly, having fun! The session includes an off-ice break for snacks at the midpoint. Sign up as an individual only. Drop-ins welcome.

SKILL BUILDING for beginners of all ages. Open practice with experienced curlers offering hints and advice.
