Foundation Dinner


Don't feel like cooking and want a good meal?

Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 17, 2012 for the annual Fairbanks Curling Club Foundation Dinner at the curling club. Reservation required. When

we give the caterer a “head-count” four days before the event, we are obligated to pay

for the reserved meals.

 

 

This will be the 22nd Curling Club Foundation annual dinner. Come support the dinner and get an update on activities and enjoy the company of curlers and friends.

 

What is the “Fairbanks Curling Club Foundation”?

The Fairbanks Curling Club Foundation was organized in 1990 as a separate tax entity from the Fairbanks Curling Club. The Foundation is a charitable organization allowing contributions to be tax deductible to the contributor. The Foundation is required to follow strict guidelines by the Internal Revenue Service. The Foundation welcomes all donations, small and large. As the contributions or principal accumulates and grows, the earnings grow. The Foundation is run on a volunteer basis with no paid wages.

 

Each year since 1991 the Foundation has given financial support for curling activities. In 2012 the Foundation is expecting to fund $22,175 for curling activities, bringing the sponsorship grand total since 1991 to $315,319.

 

The Foundation supports Junior curling travel, UAF scholarships, travel for adults to the U.S. Mixed Championships, Pacific Rim Challenge, Curling Club facility improvements, Open House, Rookie Spiel, and curling clinics.

 

The Foundation mission statement is:

 “The Fairbanks Curling Club Foundation, Inc. will promote the sport of curling and support and foster amateur sports competition for the Fairbanks area residents.”
