Annual Membership Meeting

The Fairbanks Curling Club Annual Member Meeting is on Tuesday April 2nd at 6PM.

It is an important part of our club operations to review the year of curling as it ends and to elect new board members to the board of directors. Your attendance is appreciate and you may learn something new about the club's operations.

Spring Draw Registration to Open Dec 21st

The spring draw is fast approaching and the club is preparing for registration to open. We currently plan to have registration spring draws to open on December 21st. This is still partially tentative and may change but we are hoping to begin opening leagues by this time. More information will follow.

Please help is by updating your member profiles on the website to reflect your current phone number. We are getting a lot of inquiries from teams playing someone and trying to reach their opponent, only to have an email address to use. Your phone number is important in helping your fellow curlers reach you in case of a cancellation or to reschedule a game.

Member Name Tags Now On Sale

If you would like a Fairbanks Curling Club member nametag, they are on sale now at the bar. The cost is $20.00 and the form is available anytime the bar is open. We will keep the name tag ordering open through the month of October, and the name tag must be paid for at time of ordering. Orders will be placed November 1st so don't wait until the last minute.

New water sources at the club

v>Water is important and proper hydration is a priority with the Club. We have provided two ways to stay hydrated this year. If you are upstairs, there is an orange Igloo cooler with cups and water next to the bar. If you want a cup of water, please help yourself. If the cooler is empty, let the bartender know and they can refill it. Downstairs there is a water bottle fill station right above the regular drinking fountain. Please use that to fill your personal water bottles and leave the cooler upstairs for cups of water.

All Members Need to sign new waivers

With a new year of curling comes a new year for liability waivers. Attached to this email are the 2023-24 liability waivers that every member needs to complete before going out onto the ice. Please print this off, complete it and drop it in the box on the office door downstairs...or there are blank forms in the case at the bottom of the stairs by the rental brooms that you can complete. These should be done before you go on the ice, and there are signs reminding you of that as you head out. There are two different release forms..one for adult curlers and one for minors. All curlers should sign a release.

Higher Volume of Rentals at the Club

The facility is being rented more and more and every weekend is taken up with either a spiel or a rental between now and Christmas.

If you are interested in renting the club for any type of event, please let me know and we can see what may work.

New Sponsorship Signs at the Club

You will notice a whole bunch of new sponsor signage around the club. We had a wonderful year where Fairbanks stepped up and sponsored the club. When conducting your business around town, please patronize these sponsors as you can. Sponsors are the lifeblood of our organization and without them, our dues would be a whole lot higher.
